Easy Things to Sew for Kids F

First up, Freezer pop holders (or little cozies). Adults have cozies for their drinks, why not kids? Right?
Do your kids beg for freezer pops during the summer and then complain about how cold their hands get? Mine do! Every. Single. Time. I used to use a towel (if I could find a clean one), a napkin or a paper towel. That is just wasteful and annoying. I found some cute examples on Pinterest and decided to try them out. Guess what? My kids love them.
Materials Needed:
Old Hand Towel
5″ X 5″ of fabric or a charm pack or fabric scraps
Velcro – sewable or stick on. I prefer sewable it will last longer
Sewing Machine
Thread: This is my favorite brand
Tutorial:
- Cut the fabric and hand towel into 5 inch squares
- Pin velcro onto the cut towel and fabric. 1/2 inch from one edge.
- Sew velcro onto fabric and towel
- Place the fabric and towel right sides together with velcro on opposites sides.
- Sew around outside, leave a 3″ opening.
- Cut corners. Be careful not to cut through stitching
- Turn right side out, push corner points.
- Sew around entire perimeter to close hole.
- You are done! Enjoy!

I love this sun glasses case from Sew Simple Home, she always has amazing tutorials. You may remember my sunglasses cases I made for my daughter's party a few years ago.
Heather Handmade always has great ideas and these super cute knit head bands and no exception. I love her tutorials and have used several of them myself. I actually was lucky enough to sew with her one day and made my first dress.
Life Sew Savory made a key fob, which are so great. I love using mine so I don't misplace my keys.
Jennie Masterson made some super cute card wallets. I don't know about you but we love wallets at this house. I love using them for my business cards, rewards cards, gifts cards and other items. Now you can make one for each category. Or you can make them as gifts for graduation and birthdays.
Sum of Their Stories made a drawstring book bag from tea towels, with is so easy you don't have to cut the fabric it's already the size you need. Don't you just love the flowers she added – they are adorable!
Phat Quarters made curtains! Easy curtains can you believe it. Curtains are such a fun way to change the look of a room.
Vicky Myers Creations made a super cute drawstring bag! I feel like you can never have enough bags like this. My kids use them all the time to haul their toys around, pack snacks and to take books back and forth to the library. They love having their own bag – totally make them feel special. This tutorial is so easy you can make one for every member of your family.
Cucicucicoo made these fringe napkins. They make you feel so fancy, but are so easy to make. You can pull them out and have formal meal any time of the year.
